Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel held high praise for former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa Thursday evening.

McDaniel was speaking on how accurate passes are essential for yards after catch, which he stressed while coaching for the San Francisco 49ers on the Dan Le Batard Show.

Tagovailoa has had a tumultuous start to his NFL career, one that is starting to look up in Year 3. Across his short career in Miami, Tagovailoa has thrown for 4,467 yards, 27 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. The lefty QB was selected 5th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The former Alabama quarterback has been dragged for his inability to hit the deep ball consistently his rookie year. That notion flipped in Year 2, and the addition of Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins roster may prove deadly if Tagovailoa can keep up his deep pass prowess.
