Nate Oats is building something at Alabama. The men’s basketball team currently has the third-best recruiting class of 2022 behind Arkansas and Duke per the 247Sports composite team rankings.

The Crimson Tide’s recruiting class has 5 total commits and has a lot of star power. They now have two 5-stars commits, two 4-star commits, and one 3-star commit.

Mike Rodak of AL.com shared the coach’s comments on the 2022 signing class on Twitter Wednesday.

Here’s what Oats had to say:

“For us to have one of the top-ranked classes in the nation and mix that with the type of kids we are bringing in,” said Oats. “We could not be more excited about the future of the Alabama basketball program.”

To put things into perspective, Alabama had the 15th best recruiting class for the class of 2021.

Can Oats make Alabama a basketball powerhouse? We’ll see. But things are certainly heading in the right direction on the recruiting trails.
