Nate Oats comments on his ejection from Alabama’s win over Mississippi State

Nate Oats had to watch from the locker room as the Alabama Crimson Tide held on for an 80-75 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Wednesday night.
That’s because the Crimson Tide coach was ejected after arguing that Keon Ellis was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 9:20 left in the second half.
Following the game, Oats said he disagreed with the call, but added he shouldn’t have been so vocal about it when he already had 1 technical foul (via AL.com):
“I thought there was a foul,” Oats said. “They didn’t call it. I had been on them. There were a few calls I disagreed with. It happens. I shouldn’t have gone after them as hard as I did when I already had one T. I have to be smarter. I’m not going to repeat everything that was said between me and the ref but I have to do a better job.”
Here’s a video of Oats leaving the court after getting his second technical foul:

Oats said this was the first time he could ever remember getting ejected from a game.
The important thing is Alabama got the win, improving to 17-9 on the season ahead of a showdown at No. 4 Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Mississippi State fell to 14-11 overall and are now further away from the NCAA Tournament bubble.
