Nate Oats watched his Alabama team deliver a notable win early in the season when the Crimson Tide on Sunday knocked off North Carolina in 4 overtimes.
Oats on Monday joined WJOX out of Birmingham, Alabama to discuss the game, and what he learned about his team.
“We’ve got a lot of character and a lot of fight,” Oats said. “We had a good recruiting class, but I don’t feel like we’ve got a bunch of prima donnas if you will. Some of the top-rated recruiting classes get the kids that have been told how great they are for so long and don’t want to do tough things. I don’t feel like we’ve got that at all.”
Oats praised Jaden Bradley for his role in overtime after he sat for an extended period of time in the second half, and only recently was cleared to play following March foot surgery.
“I feel like we’ve got some toughness to us, some grit,” Oats said. “But got a lot of room to grow, I think we can get some more out of some guys.”
