Najee Harris was steady and consistent during his NFL debut.

Those may not be adjectives most look for from the Steelers’ first-round selection but that’s exactly what Mike Tomlin wanted to see from the rookie from Alabama.

During the 2021 Hall of Fame game, Harris rushed the ball seven times for 22 yards.

After the game, Tomlin was asked to share his comments on Harris’ debut.

“We weren’t looking for the spectacular,” Tomlin said of Harris. “We wanted him to make the routine plays routinely … power forward. He did all the things we wanted him to do.”

The Steelers beat the Cowboys 16-3 in the game.
