Jalen Hurts had just two rushes for 24 yards against Tennessee, but one of the runs resulted in a touchdown that also came when the Alabama backup quarterback sprained his ankle on the play.
Coach Nick Saban said at his Monday press conference that Hurts had a “minor procedure” and following the surgery, that Hurts would miss one week for recovery, but should be fine going forward.
The 21-yard run came with 1:03 left in the 58-21 win over Tennessee.
“Nobody really knew about it,” Saban said. “It was a bit of a high ankle sprain, and they did a minor procedure to try to help the healing. I think he’ll be out one week.”
Alabama is off this week before its primetime showdown at LSU on Nov. 3.
Nick Saban said jr. QB @JalenHurts suffered a high ankle sprain on his TD run against Tennessee that required a minor procedure yesterday to help with the healing. Hurts is expected to miss just one week in recovery.
