Alabama junior OL Cam Robinson and junior DB Laurence “Hootie” Jones were arrested for marijuana possession and weapons charges early Tuesday morning in Louisiana. Robinson was hit with illegal possession of a stolen firearm, while Jones was tagged with illegal carrying of a weapon. Robinson’s offense is a felony.

Several Alabama teammates reacted to the news of the arrests. Head coach Nick Saban also had a chance to respond, and he released a statement Tuesday pertaining to the arrests.

“We are aware of the situation involving Hootie Jones and Cam Robinson and are in the process of gathering facts to determine what internal actions need to be taken.”

Saban will be participating in the Regions Pro-Am in Birmingham Wednesday morning, and he will likely have to field question about the arrests from the press.
