Nick Saban is not interested in Lane Kiffin doubling down on his statement regarding Kevin Steele and Alabama’s defensive playcalling.

At the SEC’s weekly teleconference Wednesday, Saban told reporters that he is simply focused on Alabama and bettering the Crimson Tide heading into Week 4 against Ole Miss. Not necessarily what others are saying about his program.

Of course, this is in reference to Kiffin’s belief that Alabama changed its defensive play-caller following Alabama’s loss to Texas.

“I don’t really have a reaction to it,” Saban said Wednesday “I’m concerned about what we do with our team, our coaches and how they work together as a unit to do the best job for our players and I’m not really concerned about anything else.”

Saturday’s game will be a big one in the grand scale of the SEC. It’s still very early in the season, but the winner of this game is already in the driver’s seat for the SEC West crown, especially considering the Rebels, Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers seem to be the top players in the West heading into Week 4.

Alabama will feature Jalen Milroe at QB while Ole Miss will trot out Jaxson Dart, who has had an excellent start to the 2023 season after winning the starting job over Oklahoma State transfer Spencer Sanders.

Time will tell if Dart can stand against the Alabama defense, however. The game is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS in Tuscaloosa.
