Nick Saban comments on potential Jalen Hurts transfer
Through the first four weeks of the regular season, people were wondering if and when Alabama backup QB Jalen Hurts was going to announce his transfer.
However, when he took the field in his fifth game of the year, burning a chance at a redshirt season, that silenced the conversation for a while.
Now, though, with the regular season over and postseason play coming up, coach Nick Saban was asked during his Wednesday press conference if Hurts’s potential transfer has come up at all recently:
Saban hasn't discussed transfer options w/ backup QB Jalen Hurts yet: "Jalen's been a real positive influence on the team this year. He's really handled this as professionally as anyone could ever expect. He's embraced the role that he has & I think he's improved because of it."

Saban on if Jalen Hurts transferring has come up: "No, it hasn't. … I don't think anybody's thinking about that much right now, and I don't think we'll be thinking about it much until we get finished playing."

Obviously, Saban would rather have Hurts stay, but it seems like it would be best for him to play his final season elsewhere.
Saban seems to have squashed the question for now, but it’s sure to come up again in the month between the SEC title game and the College Football Playoff.
