Nick Saban, Tommy Rees and Alabama are bound to take much heat over the next several days after a wild ending to the Rose Bowl.

On 4th-and-goal from the 3, with the Crimson Tide needing a touchdown to keep the game and their season alive, a quarterback draw was called. Jalen Milroe was stopped short and the team’s season ended just like that.

“The fact that it didn’t work made it a really bad call,” Saban explained. “Tommy (Rees) just felt like the best thing we could do was have a quarterback run. But, we didn’t get it blocked so it didn’t work. We didn’t execute.”

Here’s video of Saban’s response:

The Tide’s season is now over, while the Wolverines will await the winner of Washington vs. Texas.

Jalen Milroe had trouble getting anything going through the air. The QB ended the day with just 116 passing yards and a 45.3 QBR. Running back Jase McClellan had both of the Tide’s touchdowns and finished with 87 yards on the ground.

Ultimately, the Tide could not do enough to get the win and the Wolverines move on.
