Nick Saban: Fall camp is about players winning the trust of their teammates
While it’s true the coaches are the ones making the final evaluations regarding the roster by the conclusion of fall camp, Alabama coach Nick Saban suggests that it’s the players that make the call as to which members of the team will be starring once the season rolls around.
During a Thursday morning interview with former Alabama quarterback and current Sirius XM radio host Greg McElroy, Saban shared his thoughts on what aspect of camp is essential for his program’s success each season.
According to the Crimson Tide coach, the players’ set out to prove something to one another more so than the coaching staff.

Saban’s correct when he emphasizes trust as being a crucial parameter for success on the football field. With fall camps dragging on all across the SEC this week and many players likely hitting a wall, those that push through form a strong bond heading into the season.
