Don’t expect the Alabama backfield to be at full strength on Saturday for the annual A-Day spring game.
On Thursday, coach Nick Saban said the Crimson Tide would be without three star running backs for Saturday’s scrimmage — Bo Scarbrough, Damien Harris and B.J. Emmons:
Saban said Bo Scarbrough (leg), Damien Harris (foot), B.J. Emmons (foot) and Shaun Dion Hamilton (knee) won't play in the A-Day Game.

Saban added that Scarbrough probably could have played, especially if the game was more than just a scrimmage, but the Crimson Tide won’t risk it on Saturday:
Nick Saban says Bo Scarbrough will not play in A-Day.
"We haven't banged him around a lot. No sense in doing that."

After tearing his ACL in the SEC Championship Game against Florida, LB Shaun Dion Hamilton will also miss the A-Day game, but that was to be expected.
Josh Jacobs, who burst onto the scene as a talented runner last year, will likely be featured on Saturday, and fans will also likely get their first look at highly touted freshman Najee Harris.
The Crimson Tide have no shortage of talented backs, so the A-Day spring game will still feature plenty of skill in the running game.
