Nick Saban has exactly the reaction you'd expect as Alabama takes big first-half lead vs. Georgia
Nick Saban knows all about facing Georgia as the head coach at Alabama. Now, he’s getting his first chance at watching his former Tide program face the Bulldogs with Kalen DeBoer at the helm, but that hasn’t changed his businesslike demeanor.
You can bet Saban was always going to be on hand at Bryant-Denny Stadium this weekend no matter the stakes. However, it worked out perfectly with Saban in town as a part of his new gig for ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
As a result, Saban had a first-class view of Alabama’s lightning-fast start to the game. Alabama held a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and that lead grew to 28-0 before Georgia ever came up with a response.
That 4th touchdown in the stretch was particularly impressive with quarterback Jalen Milroe gashing Georgia with his legs from 36 yards out. It’s just one piece of an insanely flawless performance for Milroe thus far, but Saban remained stoic in the process.
In spite of 4 unanswered touchdowns, Saban remained seated, glasses on and pad in hand as his former Tide team celebrated. Here is how the ABC cameras captured Saban:

To be fair, Saban did let his guard down, albeit very briefly. He cracked a thin — but noticeable — smile as someone approached for a quick fist bump before returning his attention to the field.
The face you make when you’re technically no longer the coach for Bama, but secretly still the coach for Bama. #NickSaban #RollTide pic.twitter.com/2wl0xTP8Dz

Saban may be trying to keep a straight face for his job with ESPN, but you can bet the head coach is loving what he sees. So far, that is.
Call our recruits nick.
He’s thinking, “Georgia better call their recruits.”
Unoriginal. I already said that.
