Nick Saban hints at further involvement for Dallas Turner, Chris Braswell: ‘They’ve got a lot of potential’

Part of the focus for Alabama fans is what possible contributions Chris Braswell and Dallas Turner will have on the Crimson Tide this season. Both Turner, a true freshman, and Braswell, who donned a redshirt last year, could be in line for a great deal of playing time with Drew Sanders ruled out of Saturday’s game against Texas A&M.

Braswell has accumulated 10 tackles thus far in 2021, while Turner had a 3-tackle day against Mercer and was credited with 1 stop against Southern Miss. So if either, or both, appear against the Aggies at Kyle Field, it won’t be as if they’ve never played a down of college football.

“They’ve got a lot of potential,” Nick Saban said in his Wednesday press conference, according to 247Sports’ Charlie Potter. “They’ve played some in games. They’re getting all the reps in practice. We’re gonna do as much as we can to bring those guys along, and we’ve got faith, trust and confidence that they’ll be ready to go.”

We’ll see how much playing time that equates to on Saturday in College Station. Alabama and Texas A&M kick off in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
