Nick Saban reacted to Alabama’s 49-27 win over Auburn by praising the Alabama players for delivering another monumental win for the program.
In an interview with Jenny Dell of CBS Sports, Saban discussed how the game unfolded, and what the players accomplished.
“I’m so happy for our players, you know they played hard in this game,” Saban said. “Those guys did a good job of running the ball against us, but our guys competed, the offense did a great job. I’m so happy for our fans. This is a big thing in Alabama. To win the Iron Bowl is really something special. These guys won 10 games this year, which I think this about the 15th year in a row. I’m proud of them. I’m happy for them. Just can’t say enough about what they’ve done to come back and win these last games after we had a disappointment.”
About Bryce Young and Will Anderson Jr. being generational players, Saban was asked about their legacies.
“He did a great job, he’s done a great job as a quarterback,” Saban said. “He’s done a great job, as a person, he’s done a great job as an ambassador for the university. I just love this guy.”
About the possibility of being in the College Football Playoff, Saban deflected his opinion.
“That’s not for me to say,” he said. “I love our team. I wish we had the opportunity, but hopefully we’ll get one. We’ll see.”
