Nick Saban praised Jalen Milroe after the Alabama quarterback produced a record-setting performance in a lopsided win at Kentucky.
All of that added up to the SEC West title for Alabama, and something Saban said never gets old.
“Nobody how many times you’ve done it before, you’re happy for the group of guys, what they’ve done, how they’ve improved, worked hard all year,” Saban said to Katie George of ESPN. “I’m really proud of this group, this team, I love this group. Hopefully we just keep learning and getting better. Gives us an opportunity to play for the SEC Championship.”
About Milroe’s performance, Saban put it in perspective.
“He’s done a great job, he stayed very positive about what he needed to learn to improve and grow and get better,” Saban said. “Learn how to play the next play and he’s done a fantastic job for us, and the team has a lot of confidence in him. We’re really excited. He’s given us an opportunity to get where we want to go.”
Alabama will meet the SEC East champ on Dec. 2 in Atlanta.
