Nick Saban says he’s excited about what Jermaine Burton can build on
Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton has emerged as a key part of the Tide’s offense over the past few seasons, and Nick Saban believes he can build on a big game against Texas A&M on Saturday.
A senior, Burton has improved each year. On Saturday against Texas A&M, he had the best game of his career with 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
“Jermaine has got great ability,” Saban said in his press conference Monday. “We want to sort of keep him focused on the things he needs to do to be consistent in his performance. Fundamentally, just keep working on things like… he runs good routes, he’s got great ability, he’s got good hands, ball security, things like that. Not getting too emotional in game where you made bad choices and decisions. Some of those things are just things that we continue to work on.”
Saban now expects Burton to build on the performance and continue having games like he did against the Aggies.
“But we’re really excited about the game that he had, his performance, what we can build on with that,” Saban said “And I think he’s learning that you really don’t want to do anything to help the other team. He’s done a lot to hurt the other team, so let’s don’t do anything to help them.”
Burton has another chance to have a big game this Saturday as the Tide takes on Arkansas.
