When you look at 2021 NFL mock drafts, a name that sometimes pops up is Alabama DL Christian Barmore.

Clearly, many analysts and fans are expecting the talented defensive lineman to take a big step forward this fall, and by all indications, he’s had a strong camp.

However, during a Zoom call with reporters following Saturday’s scrimmage, coach Nick Saban said Barmore will be out for a few days after suffering a knee injury (via 247Sports):

“Barmore has certainly been one of our best pass-rushers,” Saban said. “He’s going to be out for a few days with a knee injury. Not significant, not serious. He didn’t work today, but he has done really, really well.”

The good news is that Saban said it’s not serious, so there’s still a chance Barmore will be ready to go for the Week 1 game at Mizzou on Sept. 26.

Barmore had 26 total tackles in 2019 (6 for a loss) and 2 sacks. He also knocked down 2 passes.
