Jermaine Burton has emerged as a top receiver for Alabama this season.

The senior has logged 446 yards and 4 touchdowns on the year, posing a major threat for opposing defenses and giving Jalen Milroe another option at the receiver position.

Now 7 games into the season, Nick Saban believes Burton is hitting his stride and finding confidence.

“I think Jermaine is playing really, really well for us, he’s made a lot of explosive plays the last couple weeks,” Saban said during the SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday. “When you have a player like that at a position, I think it probably elevates the spirit of everybody in the room relative to their opportunities to make some plays. I think at receiver I think that’s what those guys sort of strive for all the time. So I think it’s important to have somebody step up and really have success at that position and other guys see they have the opportunity to do the same thing.”

Having Burton step up as a main option has been huge and should continue to bode well for Alabama. The Tide still have some big games to play this season against Tennessee, LSU and others as they continue to find their way into the SEC Championship.
