After weeks of questions and speculation, we finally have an answer for who will start at QB for Alabama.

Sophomore Tua Tagovailoa is starting for the Crimson Tide against Louisville. There was lots of speculation that junior QB Jalen Hurts would hold onto his job as the starter. In the end, Nick Saban elected to go with the upside of Tagovailoa over the experience of Hurts.

It is hard to argue with the selection of Tagovailoa. He threw for 636 yards and 11 TDs in eight games as a freshman. He displayed an impressive arm and an uncanny ability to buy time while remaining inside the pocket. While Hurts may be the safer option in the short term, Tagovailoa gives Alabama a better shot at having a more dynamic offense.

Hurts may also see time in the season opener, but Tagovailoa is the starter to begin 2018.
