The Alabama Crimson Tide kicked off spring practice Friday in Tuscaloosa, and already it appears the Tide (once again) have some depth concerns at LB.

Following practice, Nick Saban spoke to the media for the first time this spring, and he updated the Tide’s injury situation, including LB Ben Davis.

“From an injury standpoint, Shyheim Carter and Ben Davis will probably be limited throughout the spring, although I do think Shyheim has a chance to get back at some point in time. He had a sports hernia,” Saban said in a press conference. “Ben Davis has got shin splint-type injuries that had to be fixed. All the other players have all participated in some degree.”

In addition to Davis missing time this spring due to an injury, touted Washington transfer Ale Kaho isn’t with the team right now. Also, LB Cameron Latu is having to practice at TE due to depth concerns and a suspension.

Altogether, Alabama is relatively healthy, but because of some injuries and other issues, the LB spot once again is somewhat of a question mark.
