The Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a big setback just ahead of last year’s College Football Playoff, as talented LB Shaun Dion Hamilton tore his ACL in the SEC Championship Game against Florida.
After a long road to recovery, though, Hamilton is close to making a full return and has been active at Alabama’s fall camp so far.
On Saturday, Saban addressed Hamilton’s progress during a press conference with reporters, saying the senior linebacker is nearly back to full strength:
Saban on ILB Shaun Dion Hamilton: "He's very close to 100 percent. He's done well through two days at camp. He's confident and healthy."

Before his injury last year, Hamilton had 64 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions.
If he’s fully healthy by Week 1, he’ll be expected to be an even bigger part of the Alabama defense this fall.
