Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart recall funny stories about Nick Saban’s old-school approach to film study
How old-school was Nick Saban when it came to studying tape during his early years working with Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart? While Coach Saban swore Beta tapes, we aren’t even sure we’d know one if we saw it.
During a recent appearance on the “CBS Sports Connected” series, Muschamp and Smart shared some of their funny memories of working for Saban at LSU.
The way Muschamp tells it, he gave up trying to explain modern technology to Saban during their time together at LSU. Smart wasn’t as lucky, instead of working the computer, the former Saban assistant was responsible for carrying around the Beta tapes for his boss — even when the technology at the time made them obsolete.
If you need a good laugh, check out this video, which features Muschamp and Smart having a good time recalling their days working for Saban.
