Ohio State will apparently be missing a freshman running back on Monday night against Alabama.

In a Saturday social media post, Miyan Williams indicated he did not make the trip to Miami. No explanation has been reported or provided by Williams regarding the absence.

Williams served as the backup running back in Ohio State’s Sugar Bowl win over Clemson, recording 3 carries for 21 yards. He has 10 carries for 64 yards on the season.

Williams had been promoted to RB2 with Master Teague sidelined. In Teague’s absence, Trey Sermon led the OSU ground attack, logging 31 carries for 193 yards and a touchdown.

The impact of Williams’ absence likely comes down to Teague’s status. While Sermon has shined, he’ll certainly need a breather here and there.
