Paul Finebaum understands the question marks surrounding Alabama after missing the College Football Playoff a season ago. However, any pessimism he had surrounding Nick Saban’s program has been addressed this offseason.

In his Monday morning appearance on “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning,” Finebaum said the only remaining piece to be settled is ultimately the quarterback. Once the Crimson Tide have that resolved, the remaining pieces to the puzzle have been addressed.

“I have been feeling better about Alabama for months now,” explained Finebaum. “I just think the biggest issue is QB but once that can be settled, assuming it can, I think a lot of the missing parts have been found through recruiting. And I’m extremely excited to see what the two new coordinators will bring because I have argued in the past that some of the coaching has really got in Alabama’s way.”

Finebaum particularly cited the addition of Kevin Steele to replace Pete Golding on the defensive side of the ball in regard to Alabama’s coaching staff. With everything Saban has put in place this offseason, Finebaum expects the Tide to be back in the Playoff yet again:

“I feel with new coordinators, with Kevin Steele on the defensive side of the ball, there’s a high-level of confidence this team can make it to the (Playoff),” Finebaum said.
