Paul Finebaum and many other college football analysts are high on Alabama entering the 2022 season. In fact, the Crimson Tide are checking in at No. 1 in almost every preseason poll and power rankings.

But, is there a team out there in the college football world that can knock the Tide off their presumed throne this year?

Appearing on ESPN’s “Get Up,” SEC Network host Paul Finebaum said Ohio State is “unquestionably” the biggest threat to Nick Saban and the Tide (via On3 Sports):

“Unquestionably. And it’s only the 15th straight year that at some point in the season that Alabama has been No. 1. The next closest is seven. That shows you the dominance,” Finebaum said. “But Ohio State is built for this. They had a bad year last year. They did the unthinkable, the once-in-a-generation [mistake], they lost to Michigan. But that’s not going to happen this year because they have one of the best quarterbacks in the country, they have wide receivers that will fill the NFL up. And they have Notre Dame at home in the first game of the season, they have Michigan later on, it’s a tailor-made schedule for Ryan Day to make a serious run at the championship.”

Ohio State is the No. 2 team in most polls and rankings, so there are plenty of believers in the Buckeyes this fall, too.

Will we see the Buckeyes and Tide square off in Houston with a title on the line in January? We’ll see how both teams look out of the gates!
