Paul Finebaum offers SEC outlook for Alabama
After the 34-24 loss to Texas on Saturday, there are starting to be some questions on what Alabama’s ceiling is this season. While the offense wasn’t great, the defense also was gashed by big plays, especially in the passing game.
While it is still early in the season, some of the issues shown on Saturday aren’t an instant fix, and are going to take some time. Unfortunately in the SEC, you aren’t always given time as the schedule is so tough.
Paul Finebaum talked on the Matt Barrie show about what is next for Alabama, and what is a realistic outlook in the SEC for the Crimson Tide.
“If you are the No. 1 player in the country and you were at the game in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night, who would you want to play for?” Finebaum said. “Last night wasn’t going to change the season other than to prop Alabama up, but by losing to Texas, it puts Alabama at the very far end of the ledge. They have no room for error, and it is hard to imagine as we started this conversation that they can be flawless the rest of the way.”

For the Crimson Tide, this isn’t going to be an immediate fix, but they will look to get back on track next week at South Florida.
