The Alabama Crimson Tide will start several of the upcoming seasons with neutral-site games against big-name opponents, and the payouts the school will receive for those games will be big.

This fall, the Tide will play Louisville in Orlando. In 2019, they’ll kick off with Duke in Atlanta and in 2021, they’ll open with Miami, also in Atlanta.

AL.com obtained the contracts for those games, learning that Alabama will make a total of $14 million for the three marquee contests:

It’s worth noting the payouts for these games have flattened out, even dipped a little. Alabama will get $4.5 million for the 2018 and 2019 games and $5 million for 2021 against Miami. The school got $6 million in 2016 to play USC in Arlington, Texas and $5 million to face Florida State in Atlanta.

It is interesting that the payouts are less than Alabama made to play USC in 2016, but perhaps that has something to do with TV networks losing subscribers.

Whatever the situation, it’s still a lot of money for the Alabama athletic department, and the Tide will be happy to have it.
