When Alabama opened as a 17-point favorite over Washington in the Peach Bowl, bettors quickly made it known they felt that line was too good to be true.

Now, because of the significant amount of money being placed on the Huskies, the spread has dropped to 13.5 points in favor of the Crimson Tide, according to ESPN.com.

However, one MGM vice president said he expects the money to even out before kickoff on New Year’s Eve due to the new spread:

“Anything over 14, the sharps took it,” MGM vice president of race and sports Jay Rood said.

“I have a feeling that some of the larger wagers that we’re going to see (Friday) and Saturday are going to definitely be on Alabama,” Rood said.

Alabama and Washington will square off in the College Football Playoff semifinal at 2 p.m. Central time on New Year’s Eve. The game can be seen on ESPN.
