Perry Thompson, a class of 2024 wide receiver out of Foley, Alabama, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Thompson, who is 6-foot-3 and 202 pounds, has a reported 7 offers, and has committed to Alabama, as he was recruited by Holmon Wiggins. Thompson is the first commit for Alabama for the class of 2024. He other offers included Alabama A&M, Austin Peay, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Troy and UAB.

“My height, speed, how I drop my weight coming outta routes, and my ball skills,” Thompson said of what Saban told him he likes about his game, per Bama OnLine.

The one-time Georgia fan immediately took to the Alabama program during his recruitment. Thompson said he has plenty to offer the Crimson Tide.

“Just a freak of nature,” he said. “I can play anywhere on the field and be dominant at any position.”

Thompson started for Foley as a freshman and then had a breakout sophomore season.

Thompson last season caught 53 passes for 661 yards and 5 TDs for the Lions and finished with 814 all-purpose yards. He also had a pair of interceptions.

“Last year, he really started to show the skills we were thinking he had,” Foley head coach Deric Scott said, per AL.com. “He developed this past year and has put a lot of work in during the offseason. He was able to go to some camps this summer and show what he could do. He also had a tremendous track and field season, so that no doubt helped.”
