Philip Rivers may have recently signed a one-year deal worth $25 million with the Indianapolis Colts but the quarterback already got his post-NFL career lined up.

On Friday, St. Michael Catholic High School in Fairhope, Ala., named Rivers head coach in waiting. Rivers is an Alabama native and played his high school football in the state for his father before leaving the state to play his college football at NC State.

“It’s a special day for me and my family really,” Rivers said according to AL.com. “I will probably get a little emotional. I had two childhood dreams. One was to play in the NFL, and I’m now going into my 17th season. The other was to be a high school football coach as my dad was. How blessed am I to be able to live both of those out.”

Rivers has been in the NFL since the 2004 season after being selected No. 4 overall by the New York Giants. Soon after his selection, he was traded to the San Diego Chargers where he played his entire pro career with the franchise until this offseason, when he signed with the Colts.

Whenever Rivers NFL career does come to an end, he won’t be taking any time off as he’ll be jumping right into his next career as the head coach of St. Michael Catholic High School’s football program.
