Even with a loss today in the SEC Championship Game, the currently undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide would still seem to be a lock for the four-team College Football Playoff.

However, not everyone agrees with that sentiment.

According to FiveThirtyEight, if Clemson defeats Virginia Tech in the ACC title game, Alabama loses to Florida in the SEC Championship Game and Wisconsin beats Penn State in the Big Ten title game, the Crimson Tide have a chance to fall out of the top four:

Of course, these are all just computer projections. The chance that the human College Football Playoff selection committee members leave the Crimson Tide out of the competition is much closer to zero.

But, just to be safe, it would be a good move for Alabama to go out and win the SEC Championship Game to remove every shred of doubt.
