Blake Sims: QB with the toughest task this weekend

There really isn’t a harder place to play than LSU, especially at night. With that said, Blake Sims will have the toughest task this weekend.

LSU has been clicking as of late and recently upset Ole Miss. The Rebels quarterback, Bo Wallace, said that it was the craziest place he’s ever played.

Blake Sims has a real tough task this weekend because the LSU Tigers are a completely different team than they were at the beginning of the season and they are stingy on defense.

Oh yeah, have I mentioned that the game is at night?

LSU is one of the loudest stadiums in the country, and those fans are some of the wildest people on Earth. It is really hard to communicate with your teammates during away games, and the way the Alabama offense is set up makes it even harder. They haven’t adapted the no huddle concept the way other teams have. The no huddle approach makes sure that all the guys on the field are on the same page because nothing is audible, its all visual. The coach will give a sign and everyone knows what it means. When you’re in the huddle, it can be very difficult to verbally communicate with the 10 other guys in there.

Sims can throw to one of the most dynamic players in college football in Amarie Cooper. He also has a stable of running backs that can take the pressure off. However, Alabama hasn’t been running over teams like they have been known to do in years past. Lane Kiffin came in and has installed more of a West Coast system and they aren’t running near as much, nor as efficiently. Sims has been playing well this season in the new system, but will be facing one of the toughest defenses he will face all year.

Can Sims overcome the crowd and LSU’s stifling defense to pick up a critical road win in the SEC West? I have a feeling it’s going to be one of the better games we’ll see all year.
