While some SEC teams were struggling with lesser opponents on Saturday (cough, Florida, cough), Alabama did exactly what it was supposed to do.

Hosting 1-8 New Mexico State, the Tide did trail 3-0 after the opening drive. Hopefully, the Aggies took a pic of the scoreboard at that point, because after that, it was all Alabama.

Bryce Young, who only played for a bit in the third quarter before his day was done, finished the game 21-of-23 passing for 270 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Here was his first touchdown, a 50-yard strike to Jameson Williams:

Williams had himself a day to remember, scoring 3 times and putting up 158 receiving yards:

Meanwhile, the defense had another big day. Will Anderson had a couple of sacks and the Tide didn’t allow a score after the opening field goal.

That’s the sort of dominance we’ve expected to see from the Tide. We’ll see if they can use the momentum from this game as the season goes on.

Obviously, the road gets tougher in the final 2 games of the regular season, with the Tide taking on Arkansas before heading to Auburn for the Iron Bowl.

There were a couple of injuries to keep an eye on, though. WR JoJo Earle, RB Roydell Williams and DB DeMarco Hellams all left with injuries. We’ll see what Saban says about them in his postgame press conference.
