Late on Sunday night, Alabama receivers coach Mike Locksley’s son, Meiko, was shot and killed in Maryland.

After the tragic loss, Locksley missed Monday’s practice to be with his family and grieve the loss of his son.

On Tuesday, though, Locksley was back at practice with the Crimson Tide, according to AL.com.

Unless you’ve suffered a tragic loss like Locksley’s, it’s tough to understand what he’s going through at a time like this.

Perhaps being at practice brings a sense of normalcy to his life during these otherwise sad times.

Locksley spent the 2016 season as an offensive analyst on Nick Saban’s staff. Now, he’s an on-field assistant in charge of the receivers. He spent the 2012 to 2015 seasons at Maryland, serving as the team’s interim head coach for part of 2015.
