One of Alabama’s premier defensive players finds himself in trouble with the law, as outside linebacker Tim Williams has reportedly been arrested. Williams’ arrest stems from carrying a pistol without a permit.

The news of Williams’ arrest was first reported by Aaron Suttles of Tide Sports. According to the report, Williams has already been released from jail following the misdemeanor charge.

Last offseason, Williams turned down an opportunity to enter his name in the 2016 NFL Draft to return for his senior season in Tuscaloosa. Williams registered 9.5 sacks and 11.5 total tackles-for-loss last season and currently has 1.5 sacks this year for the Tide.

Alabama plays Kentucky at home this weekend. At this point, Williams’ status for the game has yet to be determined.
