For the third time in two years, Alabama has to replace an offensive coordinator.

Brian Daboll has left Alabama to make a return to the NFL. After only one year on the job, Daboll has been hired away by Buffalo. The Bills fired former OC Rick Dennison Friday.

Daboll was hired off of New England’s staff last offseason following Steve Sarkisian’s brief stint as OC, who took over the position after Lane Kiffin left for FAU. He had been the Patriots’ tight end coach.

The Tide quietly had one of the SEC’s best offenses under Daboll as Alabama finished No. 2 in scoring, No. 3 in rushing, No. 4 in total offense and second in fewest turnovers in Daboll’s one season running the unit.
