Report: Alabama set to hire new RB coach with SEC experience
The Alabama Crimson Tide have been looking for a new RB coach since Charles Huff left for the head coaching job at Marshall.
Now, they’re turning to a guy who has plenty of experience coaching great running backs.
Per Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, North Carolina RB coach Robert Gillespie, who had been connected to the job in rumors, is set to become the new Alabama RB coach:

A few quick notes on new Alabama RB coach Robert Gillespie:
— Was a team captain for Florida's 2001 Orange Bowl team.
— Coached two All-ACC running backs at UNC this season.
— Has also coached RBs like Alvin Kamara and Kendall Hunter (Oklahoma State).https://t.co/NNBlYDzekN https://t.co/elpMiKRLy6— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) January 24, 2021
Gillespie has plenty of SEC experience, coaching at South Carolina from 2005 to 2008 and at Tennessee from 2013 to 2017.
How will he fare in Tuscaloosa? He has Brian Robinson and Trey Sanders, among others, to work with in 2021.
