CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein has had a busy week of breaking CBB scheduling news. One of the news items he shared was that Alabama and Pennsylvania will face off on Nov. 5, 2019, in Tuscaloosa to open the Crimson Tide’s 2019-20 season, which will be the first official game of the Nate Oats era.
Penn went 19-12 in its 2018-19 campaign and was 7-7 mark in Ivy League conference competition. The Quakers return their top two scorers from last season: senior forward AJ Brodeur (17.6 points per game) and senior guard Devon Goodman (13.9).
UA has not yet released the full schedule for 2019-20. Other reported non-conference games for the Crimson Tide are the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament (Nov. 27-29 in the Bahamas), Stephen F. Austin at home and road trips to Penn State and Rhode Island.
