Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian is leaving Tuscaloosa for Texas, and it seems he’s taking a few Crimson Tide assistants with him.
This week, it was reported that OL coach Kyle Flood was heading to Texas as Sark’s new offensive coordinator (though Sark will continue calling plays). Now, another key assistant is leaving Tuscaloosa for Austin.
Per The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, special teams coordinator Jeff Banks is expected to join Sarkisian’s staff as the assistant head coach/special teams coordinator/tight ends coach:

Banks spent the 2013-17 seasons at Texas A&M, so he’s familiar with the recruiting landscape in the Lone Star State. He also served as the interim head coach in 2017 after Kevin Sumlin was fired.
Will Sark continue to hire away assistants from Alabama? We’ll see what happens as he continues to assemble his first Longhorn staff.
