When Alabama takes on Florida State on Saturday at the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta, the Seminoles will have a big part of their defense back on the field.

According to 247Sports, senior LB Matthew Thomas has been cleared to play and is expected to be on the field for Saturday night’s game.

Thomas had been dealing with an academic eligibility issue, but that has apparently been resolved in time for Week 1.

In 2016, Thomas finished with 77 tackles (11 for a loss) in 13 games and also recorded one sack and forced a fumble.

The Seminoles and Crimson Tide will kick off their 2017 seasons on Saturday night at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on ABC.
