The Alabama Crimson Tide consistently produce some of the top defensive line talent in the entire country, and often have a defensive lineman (or 2) taken in the first round of the NFL Draft.

However, that means there’s a lot of depth at the position in Tuscaloosa, so it can take a while for guys to get their shot.

On Wednesday night, former 4-star DL Ishmael Sopsher — a member of the Tide’s 2019 recruiting class — reportedly decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Sopsher was the No. 5 defensive tackle in the 2019 class and the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Louisiana.

He chose Alabama over LSU during his recruitment. Could a return to his home state be his next move?
