An investigation has cleared Alabama receiver Calvin Ridley of a plan to have another student take his ACT, according to Yahoo Sports’ Graham Watson.

It had previously been reported by the Sun Sentinel that Monarch High School (Pompano Beach, Fla.) head coach Calvin Davis approached security guard Elvin McCray, who claimed that the coach inquired about making an ID card with Ridley’s name on it, but also with the face of another student on it that would allow that student to take Ridley’s ACT.

According to Watson, the school board looked into it and deemed that Ridley had no knowledge of the plan, and that the coach acted alone in that plan. Ridley ended up taking the test and getting a score that was good enough to enroll at Alabama.

Rocky Gillis, the county athletic director for the Broward County Athletics Association spoke with AL.com about the results of the investigation.

“From what I understand, he was not involved in any way,” Gillis said. “The investigation was more on the coach taking it upon himself. As far as I know, he wasn’t involved at all.”
