The rumors surrounding Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin continued on Friday evening, as it was reported that he was in talks with Florida Atlantic University about the school’s open head coaching position.

According to FootballScoop.com, the two sides are discussing the vacancy now that Major Applewhite was given the Houston job.

Under former Arkansas assistant Charlie Partridge, the Owls went 3-9 in each of the last two seasons.

If he lands the job, Kiffin would be only the fifth head coach in program history, as FAU first fielded a team in 2001.
