Ryan Williams is off to a good start in his Alabama career.

A former 5-star prospect, expectations for Williams in 2024 were a bit uncertain due to his relative youth. Williams re-classified up a year, meaning he should still be in high school as of this fall.

Instead, the 17-year-old is already making big-time plays for Alabama. The first 2 catches of his collegiate career both went for long touchdowns.

His first score of the game went for 84 yards:

Then, in the 2nd quarter, Williams broke a tackle and raced 55 yards to the end zone for another touchdown:

Williams is a supremely talented prospect, so it’s not a huge surprise to see him contributing already — even despite his age. He was the No. 4 overall player in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Alabama is looking to move to 1-0 on Saturday. The Crimson Tide will host South Florida in Week 2.
