Sad fans are sad: Tennessee fans draw attention as Alabama takes control with big plays
Tennessee fans had a long 2nd half in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday and CBS cameras captured their emotional reactions.
In a swarm of Crimson Tide fans, the Vols faithful stood out, especially when Alabama made a big play.
After a big start when Tennessee led 13-0, the Vols were shutout to start the 2nd half, as Alabama built a 34-20 lead.
The most difficult development came when Alabama edge rusher Chris Braswell sacked Joe Milton to force a sack-fumble. Alabama recovered and returned it for a touchdown to take a 34-20 lead. That came with 7:26 left to play and effectively ended Tennessee’s hopes.
Earlier, Alabama kicker Will Reichard got some redemption for his miss in a similar spot last season and expanded the Crimson Tide’s lead to 27-20 early in the fourth quarter. Alabama was on a 20-point run, as Tennessee’s offense has completely sputtered in the second half.
