Alabama could soon be losing some depth up front as a key reserve has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Rising senior Scott Lashley may not finish his playing career in Tuscaloosa as the offensive tackle has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal according to Matt Zenitz of

The 6-foot-7, 307-pound Mississippi native appeared in eight games for the Crimson Tide last season and served as the team’s backup right tackle. With Jedrick Wills, last season’s starting right tackle, declaring early for the 2020 NFL Draft, Lashley was in a position to at least compete for a starting role on Alabama’s offensive line in 2020.

It should be noted that a player can return to his team after entering the NCAA transfer portal but this is the first step a player takes when they intend on leaving a program.

If Lashley does leave Alabama via transfer, he will be eligible immediately at his next school as he is a graduate.
