It seems like everyone has an opinion on the Alabama quarterback battle between Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa these days, and on Tuesday, SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic was the latest to weigh in.

He appeared on “The Roundtable” on WJOX and disagreed with the take his ESPN colleague, Booger McFarland, had the other day.

While Booger thinks Hurts will be the opening day starter, Cubelic says he thinks it is pretty obvious Hurts won’t be the top guy:

“I think it’s pretty apparent Jalen Hurts isn’t going to be the guy at quarterback,” Cubelic said. “A lot of us could say we knew that going in or we didn’t know. But I believed he was going to have a realistic chance to compete for the job in the fall.”

It’s still too early to say who will be the starter, as Hurts could have a big summer and earn the Week 1 start. Still, his spring performance left a lot to be desired.
