Clemson's Shaq Lawson weighs in on his chances of playing Monday
Clemson’s All-America defensive end Shaq Lawson was one of the most sought-after interviews at Saturday’s College Football Playoff media availability.
He’s battling a knee injury, and his chances of playing in Monday’s game against the Crimson Tide appear to be up in the air.
Here are some highlights of what he said:
Shaq Lawson says he has a sprained MCL. Gives himself a 60 percent chance to play. Practiced last day at Clemson, limited.

Lawson said he knew his knee wasn’t torn, but that he can feel the weakness.
Shaq Lawson: I’ve tried a knee brace. Just trying to get used to it.

It will be interesting to see what type of impact Lawson can make on the national title game.
He’s a difference-maker, and the Tigers defense would be weaker without the projected first-round pick. Even if he’s able to play, if it is at less than full capacity he could be a potential weakness for the Crimson Tide to exploit.
