Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian landed a huge raise ahead of the 2020 college football season.

Alabama gave Sarkisian an $850,000 raise after receiving head coaching inquiries at Mississippi State and Colorado, among others, this offseason. His total annual compensation is now $2.5 million.

Sarkisian is tied with Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele as the highest-paid coordinators in the nation. Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables is third making $2.2 million. Last year, LSU defensive coordinator — and current Baylor head coach — Dave Aranda also made $2.5 million.

Alabama hired Sarkisian prior to the 2019 season after he parted ways with the Atlanta Falcons. Under Sarkisian’s watch, Alabama’s offense finished second in the nation in scoring offensive averaging 47.2 points per game.
